Become a founding member of the SLOCM Teacher Network

The SLOCM Teacher Network creates a partnership between teachers and the San Luis Obispo Children's Museum. We would like to the Museum to be a resource for teachers in the community. We would welcome a dialogue between educators and the Museum on how to better the experience for you and your students.

Once you join the SLOCM Teacher Network, you will receive a card that is valid from January 2010 to September 31, 2010.

Benefits of being apart of the Teacher Network Includes:

• 10% off of store merchandise
  
• Invitations to two special events at the Museum
  
• Advance pass to scout the museum for your class field trip
  
• 5 free passes (to be used at your discretion)

Signing up for the Teacher Network Card is free and easy. Simply fill out our teacher form at the Museum's front desk. Verification is required.Please bring a copy of your School ID when you visit. The SLOCM Teacher Network Card is valid for San Luis Obispo County Kindergarten-3rd Grade teachers and special needs teachers.

How the California Education Standards are met at the
San Luis Obispo Children’s Museum

The San Luis Obispo Children’s Museum inspires learning through play. Play at the Museum takes place in a series of rich environments that provide children with opportunities to learn by doing. Many of these opportunities directly relate to the education standards supported by the state of California. Though the value of a day spent at the Museum cannot be described simply in terms of the education standards that it meets, we have highlighted standards that speak directly to the Museum experience.
