Volunteer at SLOCM!

Volunteers are vital to the Children's Museum’s operation. If you love kids, apply today to be a part of our team! Our volunteers will be working with children and families to promote hands-on learning, artistic expression and innovative educational experiences.

To be considered for a volunteer position, you must:

  • Be at least 16 years old

  • Commit to work a minimum of two 4-hour shifts per month

  • Attend all required trainings

  • Submit a current TB Certification and Live Scan to work with children

  • Be enthusiastic, courteous and helpful

  • Be responsible and committed to assignments

  • Be willing to have fun and play!

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

Education & Guest Services Volunteer

  • Assist children with art and science projects

  • Educate guests about exhibits

  • Read stories in our early childhood space

  • Assist with school and public programs

  • Welcome, assist and interact with guests

  • Assist with birthday parties and facility rental events

  • Assist with facility maintenance

Special Events Volunteer

  • Help organize and staff special events
