This year, we’re expecting 150 guests join us for a Star Wars costume party on October 9th. Think team challenges, laser tag, a silent disco, Cantina vibes, a live auction filled with experiences, and unexpected twists throughout the evening.
Tickets on sale soon, right here! Plan your outfit, and wear comfy shoes. May the fun be with us!
2026 Honoree
Stephen Gonzales
Stephen Gonzales was raised in Santa Barbara but has made San Luis Obispo County his home since 1985. He and his wife, Elisabeth, raised their two children in rural Santa Margarita, where Stephen based his company, Trapezoid Construction.
For the last 30 years, Stephen has donated his valuable time to the San Luis Obispo Children’s Museum, building exhibits and whimsical spaces. He helped create SLO Town, the Museum’s adorable second floor village, which features a medical office, café, performance stage, trolley, bank, farmers’ market and mini-Bubblegum Alley.
Stephen has also built science exhibits such as the one-of-a-kind RFID Microscope, which brings specimens like snakeskin and shark teeth to life on video. And the giant snake out back is a result of his talent.
In addition to improving the Children’s Museum with his considerable construction talent, Stephen also serves on the Museum’s volunteer board of directors, and chairs the Exhibits Committee.
Stephen helps the museum every day to fulfill its mission of inspiring learning through play.
Congratulations, Stephen, and thank you for being such a champion of this organization!
